Supreme Court's Bank Accounts Cannot Yet Be Published
Written by Lowongan Kerja on 07.55TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Supreme Court (MA) has denied the accusation that the institution had refused to cooperate with Finance Department in publishing the institution's bank accounts.
“We've clarified this four times with the Finance Department,” said MA's spokesperson, Joko Sarwoko, yesterday (18/12).
His institution, said Joko, already provided the data regarding the accounts in each work unit on November 30, 2007, to the Finance Department.
From this data, it is known that 782 work units are spread across in several regions.
Last Monday (17/12), Hekinus Manao, Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting at the Finance Department, said that his side could not yet solved the publishing of illegal accounts in MA as MA officials never answered the invitation to hold a meeting with the Finance Department's Restructuring Team.
So far the MA has only been sending data.
“We've scheduled a meeting at least twice, but they didn't come,” he said.
Joko disputed that Hekinus had instead missed the appointments.
“Four times we came to Finance Department. But he (Hekinus) wasn't there,” said Joko.
Joko acknowledged that the MA received the letter dated November 9 signed by Herry Purnomo on the deadline of
submitting the account data, on November 30, 2007.
Based on the letter, MA Secretary General conveyed the data to the Finance Department's Restructuring Team.
The data comprised the accounts in the State Administration, Religious, Military and General Courts.
According to Joko, the MA has already submitted the data of the accounts of 741 work units.
The remaining 41 will be processed soon, comprising 37 accounts in general courts and three in religious courts.
Hekinus confirmed that the data had in fact been received by the team on December 4, 2007.
Yet, as the MA has never delegated representatives to explain it, the data could not be processed.
Joko assumed that Hekinus' statement was related to the findings of the Bank Account Restructuring Team regarding the accounts in Bank Mandiri owned by the Justice Department.
Joko confirmed that several courts' accounts in Bank Mandiri cannot be accessed by the MA.
